A Celebration of Art
The Southwest Harbor Public Library will host a silent art auction to benefit the Library from July 10 to August 30. We extend an invitation to artists to donate a unique piece of art for sale.
All artwork will be available for the public to purchase via a "Buy it Now" option and/or in the tradition of a silent auction and will be on display for the 7 weeks unless sold for full "Buy it Now" price. A bid sheet listing the title, medium, artist's name with short bio and item description will accompany each piece. Registered bidders will be able to either "Buy it Now" or make a bid at any time during the auction and winning bidders will be notified shortly after the auction closes at the end of business hours on August 30th.
To participate, please fill out the on-line registration form or download a pdf and submit a hard copy registration by May 15th. Please plan to deliver your artwork to the library between June 21st - July 1. The work must be ready with method to be hung on the wall unless it is a 3D object to be displayed in the glass display case.
Submission of a digital image of your art is appreciated and will help us advertise the auction via our website and in the brochure. If you have any questions, please contact any of the committee members at the following phone numbers or by using the e-mail email@example.com.
The "Buy it Now" option will allow the purchaser to pay for and take the art immediately for your determined fair market price. You will be contacted if a Buy it Now purchase of your artwork has taken place and are invited to submit a different 2nd piece of art.
Proceeds from your generous donation will go directly into supporting this year's programs at the Southwest Harbor Public Library. Please consider donating 100% of your artwork to the Library. In recognition that this is not always possible, the Library will split the top bid price 50/50 if you indicate this choice on the registration form.
There will be an artist reception and exhibition opening on Sunday, July 30th from 5:30 – 7 pm; we hope you will attend. We are grateful to you for considering this opportunity to support the library. If you have questions, please contact either Pepper or Candy. We look forward to working with you!
