A native of Westport, Connecticut, Ann Jones (Schwartz) painted scenes of Mount Desert Island after her arrival in 1978. A resident of Bernard for many years, she was well known for her large sweeping landscapes of the island, her series created out of isolated interests including discarded pails, pots, and enamelware, and island gardens. Ann had galleries in Southwest Harbor, Northeast Harbor, and in Bernard until her death in 2022.
