Island Quilters, a Mount Desert Island quilters group since 1992, will exhibit their work at the Southwest Harbor Public Library during the month of June.
The group has been meeting via Zoom over the winter and hope to start gathering outdoors this summer. We have been busy making baby and oncology quilts for MDI Hospital. Also this year we have a “block swap”. Each month two people send out instructions for a 10-12” block and, once made, are returned to the individuals so they can put them together and make a quilt. We have also started working on a “mystery quilt”; getting instructions every couple of weeks from Wendy Ames. Once finished – we will have more baby quilts to donate to the hospital.
The chapter is a member of the Maine Pine Tree Quilt Guild.
