From the Curator

In Island life, every event is important. The Archive has documents and images of everything from major fires (1922 and 1947) and minor fires, to parties, plays and balls to flagpole raisings, a train wreck, the dedication of a modern bridge to the island, to the sinking and resurrection of a Friendship Sloop and a Conundrum Social for the Benefit of the Seal Cove Cemetery Fence Fund in 1893.
