Many “cruisers” sail multiple times a year with complete brand loyalty while many newspapers, magazines and blogs regularly publish articles highlighting the negative aspects of the industry. This past year has brought major marketing initiatives from the cruise industry alongside harsher critiques gaining higher profile media attention. As the cruise industry readies to return to service it is worthwhile to look at the impact cruise tourism may have on both visited destinations and the visitor to the destination.
